IONIA stem from a fictitious body of work by Valerios Calocerinos.

 

Valerios composed music for the narrative and the concept was to keep the music organic, simple and beautiful. 

 

The volume was condensed to an 8 act script and performed as a dramatic monologue by an actor and the band. 
 

Opportunity appeared to perform at the launch of the Greek Festival of Sydney at Darling Harbour and the band has performed tirelessly since being regular on the festival circuit and active in the Sydney live music scene.

The concept and characters continue to grow and this becomes inspiration for new compositions for Valerios and IONIA. 

 

IONIA co-exists with other projects and characters are subtly linked through things that happen to them in their reality or surreal moments.
