Whilst in a smokey club in Melbourne Valerios was on a promotional mission handing out CDs and fliers to anyone who looked like they may be interested. Hayden and Paul were in his sights and thus was the start of a long still standing friendship and creative relationship. Valerios was recruiting acts for the Candles and Intrigue Vol 2 compilation and Recur invited Valerios to a rehearsal. With a sound that neatly fell into the Left As In Sinister energy Valerios invited the band to record a track at his studio (Wobble Box) in Fitzroy Melbourne to record a single for the compilation. The bands electro sound mixed with atmospheric guitar, driving bass and profound lyrics filled a gap on the diverse compilation with the track "Life".

 

Soon after Valerios moved his studio to Surrey Hills (Melbourne) and Recur were one of the first acts to record a full length Album at the facility. During the recording Tyson succombed to life and self imploded and Valerios took on the role of guitarist as well as producer. When the album was completed the band toured to promote and found itself in Brisbane QLD for a run of eventful shows, in particular a sound engineer nodding off behind the mixing desk mid show and a promotor trying to make a quick getaway with out paying the band. A car chase ensued and the character only known as 'Dodgy Dave' (who incidently Valerios would have another run in with in Sydney years later) was cornered at the front of his girlfriends house by a group of angry musicians who would not leave until paid.

 

The band continued to perform in Melbourne with their tracks being popular among club playlists. Paul moved to the UK and returned briefly in 2009. Hayden, Valerios and Paul locked themselves in Valerios' studio (now in Sydney) for a weekend and produced 2 tracks which are planned to be part of an upcoming Left As In Sinister release of rare recordings.

 

Paul also appears on the track 'Under My Skin' from the album No Art - This Gentle Flow. Hayden and Paul both provided voices for a radio play (Todd The Cane Toad) for SND. Paul and Valerios met on the island of Kythera in Greece in 2010 and rehearsed for live shows in Athens playing various tracks from Valerios' catalogue.
