This Gentle Flow

 

This Gentle Flow is a solo project from Valerios although not shying away from collaboration on different tracks and for live performances.

 

Most recently he collaborated with Mike Pougounas, the enigmatic vocalist from Greece with an extensive discography. (New Zero God - The Flowers of Romance - Nexus)This collaboration saw the release of 'King Pest' a track which takes both Valerios and Mike back to their Gothic Rock roots.

 

Valerios has approached this project with an 'each piece is its own entity' mindset. 

 

The first EP - This Cage is a match of Industrial, orchestral and traditional Goth rock. The track 'Punctured Vein' Featured on many compilations internationally and was a club staple. This track and 'Laugh' from the EP are currently being re recorded using orchestral instruments for a new release for this project.

 

It has always been clear that there is an element of Valerios' technique that has placed his work in the realms of certain genres (being described as "Post Goth" in Germany for example) To comment on this Valerios released No Art. The title track is an irreverant reflection of art and artists (in the full sense of the word) in general and takes the listener on the pratagonists tragic journey. Another perilous spiral of the artist can also be found on the track 'Mr Rock Star Pants' an almost rude footnote to some charcters who have crossed Valerios' path. The last track of the album 'Flatland' is dedicated to the book of the same name by Edwin A Abbot and contains buckled samples from every track on the recording. 

 

Although the album 'Black' would fit into the dark ambient genre, the title track ‘Black 6’ creates an assult in total juxtopisition to the rest of the album. The limited edition, hand numbered CD also includes the (some say 'disturbing') film clip for this track. 

 

Being a bassist, Valerios explores the electric guise of this instrument both live and in the studio. Live, the band consists of 2 bassists and the instrument is used in place of guitars regularly on recordings.
