IONIA at The Vault - Greek Bilingual Bookshop


IONIA have another show on Fri 5th of June at The Vault (The Greek Bilingual Book Shop - 837 New Canterbury Rd - Dulwhich Hill) This show will be with Alex Sideratos Narrating. Support will be from 'Without Repertoire' Tickets are on the door at $15, 7.30 Start. We hope to see you there.

Performed in English and set during the 16th century, the show is an organic, touching and sometimes sullen story told through the eyes of an iconographer as he paints a life that should of been. Condemned for the murder of a mute girl on the island of Kythera to selling nudes painted on playing cards in the taverns of Istanbul the characters story is told in a compelling manner as his paintings become song.

The breadth of experience and talent within IONIA has created exceptionally original, accomplished and engaging music crossing many genres such as alternative, gypsy, classical and folk rock. This original work from Valerios Calocerinos brings together an array of talent to create an intriguing and fresh conceptual piece which has it sites set firmly on the international stage.
